Happy Taxation Without Representation Day!

That's right everyone today is National Taxation without Representation Day!

Over a half-million people participate in this day every year. They, under fear of being jailed or worse, audited mail off their forms pay their tax and party like it's 1775.

Lots of reason have been giving by lawmakers as to why they willing deny the right to voting representation to over a half-million people. The more I see, and hear from them, the more I think it has less to do with the reasons they publicly say (which arn't a lot) and more to do with the class of the people who would be given the vote. One in three working families live under the poverty level here in DC. Which means that's a very large voice from the opposite spectrum of people that most Politicians work for. This scares them, and rightfully so. They should be afraid. For years they've been sucking up the money from lobbyist and corporations. And the people of the District of Columbia threaten the status-quo, we are unpredictable, and come from an place most of them can't even imagine.

This is why I think DC will never get the voting rights while there are so many people at the poverty level or in the lower class. Until they know how to safely contain us, to manipulate us into voting against our own interests there will be no vote for DC.

So feel safe in your purchase of holiday goods, National Taxation without Representation Day will be here for many years to come...

...that is at least until they develop out the poor and truck people into the new condos from the burbs.
